Summer Camps in and around Mentone

 Alpine Camp is a Christian summer camp for boys located in Mentone, Alabama.  Since 1959, boys at Alpine have explored the massive rocks, rushing waterfalls, and deep woods surrounding the camp.  During a summer at Alpine, a camper will make new friends, discover new interests, saddle a horse, climb a rock, build a campfire, and above all learn to “act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.”

Camp Comer is located on Lookout Mountain, 5 miles from Mentone.  Camp Comer is features 1,000+ acres for weekend camping, and summer resident camps. The waterfront sits on a 90 acre lake, and the 5 mile, Thunderbird Trail wraps around much of the property to hidden waterfalls and rock crevices. 

Camp Desoto is a Christian summer camp for girls ages 8-16.  At Camp DeSoto girls are invited to experience the fun of summer camp as part of a nurturing Christian community. Through outdoor activities, new friends, loving counselors, worship, and play, Camp DeSoto provides girls with opportunities to learn new skills, enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, build lasting friendships, and develop a deeper understanding of God’s love. 

Camp Laney is a traditional overnight camp for boys ages 7-15, established in 1959 and located in Mentone.

 Camp Skyline is a private girls’ summer camp founded on the banks of Little River and on the principles of Christian Leadership. Camp Skyline fosters lifelong friendships built upon cherished memories and fellowship with God. 

Lookout Mountain Camp for Boys in Mentone is a summer camp full of rich history, fun activities, and a steadfast philosophy. 

 Nature’s Classroom Atop Lookout Mountain is a hands-on educational program with an emphasis on team building and experience-based learning in an outdoor setting. Nature’s Classroom has been operating at its current site in Mentone since 1991.

Ponderosa Bible Camp & Retreat Center is a non-profit Christian camp established in 1947.  Ponderosa specializes in one-week overnight summer camp sessions for boys and girls aged 7-17. 

 Riverview is nestled into a bend of Little River atop Lookout Mountain.  Girls live in simple yet lovely rustic cabins with the modern conveniences necessary to make camping comfortable.
